German Street Park - Natural Resource Management

On-ground riparian restoration works are being carried out at German Street Park by Capricornia Catchments. Capricornia Catchment's 4C’s Project aims to bring together Conservation, Creeks, Cycling and Community to care for our local Moores Creek. This project has been funded by the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action Grants - Round 8 - Conservation Outcomes for Watercourse Ecosystems, with delivered with support from Rockhampton Regional Council.

Schedule: Intermittent works scheduled from July 2025 to July 2026

Site objectives:

  • Enhance biodiversity and site resilience by increasing the riparian buffer zone (vegetation located along the edge of the waterway within the Moores Creek corridor)
  • Encourage nature-based training and education opportunities

Work activities:

  • Restoration works (weed control, mulching and planting of native species)
  • Routine maintenance (watering, weeding and litter control)
