Community Gardens

Do you have a passion for growing your own food, making new friends, and living sustainably? If so, you might want to join a community garden near you.

A community garden is more than just a place to plant seeds and harvest crops. It is a place where people can come together to share their skills, knowledge, and creativity, enjoy the fresh air and learn from nature.

Community gardens are great for the environment and the community, transforming unused areas into productive and attractive green spaces. Community Gardens can help you save money on groceries, reduce food waste and promote healthy eating habits, while also teaching you how to use water wisely, compost organically and minimise your ecological footprint.

Whether you want to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, or flowers, or just want to have some fun and socialise, there is a community garden for you.

Council Support

Rockhampton Regional Council is proud to support community gardens on public land. However, we do not manage these gardens directly; each garden is managed by a Community Garden Group.
