Local Law Review Update
Did you know?
Council's Local Laws are currently under review. Since de-amalgamation, several inconsistencies and concerns have been identified, in particular, some laws currently reference Yeppoon and surrounding suburbs as being part of our local government area. This review will rectify these inconsistencies and modernise our laws.
This review has been broken into two stages. Stage 1 has now been completed and effective as of 11 December 2018. The documents part of stage 1 are listed below;
Local Laws adopted by Council:
Local Law No 1 (Administration) 2011
Local Law No 8 (Waste Management) 2018
Subordinate Local Laws adopted by Council:
Subordinate Local Law No 1.3 (Establishment or Occupation of a Temporary Home) 2011 (PDF, 43KB)
Subordinate Local Law No 1.6 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2018
Subordinate Local Law No 1.9 (Operation of Cemeteries) 2011
Subordinate Local Law No 1.12 (Operation of Temporary Entertainment Events) 2011
Subordinate Local Law No 1.13 (Undertaking Regulated Activities regarding Human Remains) 2018
These documents will be available for inspection or purchase at Council's Customer Service officers, available for viewing on our website or the website of the Department of Local Government in early 2019.
Stage 2 will progress to community consultation stage in early 2019.
