Change an Existing Approval

For building permits issued by Council, an applicant may submit a Building Approval Amendment Request Form(PDF, 191KB)  to:

  • Extend the approval period (Conditions are attached to an approval which limits the time the permit is valid for);
  • Amend or alter an aspect of the approval (other than conditions); or
  • Change conditions associated with the permit.

Note: Change of use of building subject of an alternative solution will require the building to be reassessed.

Assessment Process

The process for assessing an application is legislated under the Planning Act 2016.

 Council will assess the change application against required legislation and regulations within the timeframes set by the legislation.
