What do I do if my pet is lost?
The Animal Management Centre is currently closed to the public in line with the Australian Government’s measures to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Modified services are continuing. To access services, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on 1300 22 55 77.
Surrender of animals is currently restricted. Customers are requested to retain their animals for the duration of the outbreak.
If your pet is currently impounded. Please contact the Animal Management Centre on 07 4936 8555 to make arrangements for release.
Notify Council of your lost pet as soon as possible by completing the below form or calling 07 4932 9000 or 1300 22 55 77. This information assists Pound Officers making a match if your pet is impounded without identification.
Check Council's online Lost Animals page regularly for newly impounded animals. While all care is taken to update this register as soon as an animal is impounded, you should also contact your nearest Animal Pound Facility during opening hours.
There are a number of local contacts that may also be able to assist in finding your lost pet. Contact RSPCA Rockhampton or visit the Lost Pet Co-ordinator - Rockhampton Region and the Capricorn Animal Aid Facebook pages where they list lost and found pets in the Rockhampton Region.
