Rockhampton Regional Council is pleased to advise that the region’s water supply is back to normal, following some supply chain issues over the last few days that were caused by recent flooding across Australia.

Water Councillor Donna Kirkland said Council’s delivery arrived last night which means people can go back to their normal water consumption.

“Although the barrage was full, we were running low on an essential chemical, Aluminium Chlorohydrate (ACH), that is required for the treatment of our drinking water.

“After we put the call out to the community we saw such a big reduction in water usage which was fantastic to help us conserve our supply.

“I am happy to report that now that our order has arrived you can go back to watering the garden, washing the car, and all those other chores that you may have been putting off.

“Although we should always be mindful of our water usage, this was an exceptional situation but thankfully our stock levels are now back to normal.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank the community for heeding this call and monitoring their water usage during this time – it made a big difference.”
