The Rockhampton Sports Precinct aims to provide the region with a new destination to support the current and future demand for sport and active recreation for our growing region.

The 26 hectare precinct is proposed to be centrally located next to the CQUniversity campus that will deliver a high standard sporting and recreation facility for our community and will cater for and look to attract regional, state and national level sporting carnivals and events to the region.

Stage 1 of the precinct will be prioritising a new contemporary home for Rockhampton Netball. This will include 16 fit for purpose hard courts, new club facilities, change spaces and a 3-court indoor facility. Council will work with local sporting associations and clubs as well as other stakeholders to refine future staging, governance arrangements and timeframes of the remaining components of the precinct.

The master plan is a long-term vision for a multi-use sports precinct in North Rockhampton. Council has identified the first stage as delivering a new home for Rockhampton Netball.
