A DAY OF CALM ABIDING MEDITATION
Mindfully learning to remain calm and screen one's thoughts, feelings and perceptions without confusing them with objects are some of the practical and pragmatic function of Lama Choedak Rinpoche's teachings on the practice of meditation. This active calm abiding contemplative technique teaches a self discipline, insight and wisdom in tailoring a compassionate response to others - knowing how one's non-reactive and thoughtful conduct helps others to regain their consciousness. It is a precious gift to learn to meditate and reclaim one's sanity, clarity and awareness through meditation.

INSIGHT MEDITATION AND HEART SUTRA IN EVERYDAY LIFE
Insight meditation is designed to gain subjective awareness of the nature of things as they are instead of the way they appear to our conventional reality. The fact that no objects appear identical to all observers should alert one's awareness to what extent can one be objective without the awareness and insight of the role of one's own attitude. One who is calm and collected can witness the importance of insight of one's own thought and gain discriminating awareness of the notion of self as not being identical to the merely labelled 'name, feeling, position, gender, ethnicity etc.' It is for this reason, as it says in the Heart Sutra: 'Form is emptiness, emptiness of form etc.' millions of Buddhist read the famous succinct discourse by the Buddha as part of their daily meditation. Rinpoche will give explanation and instruction on the essence of the Heart Sutra as the key tool to genuine insight meditation.
