Don’t dream it – be it! Auditions now open for The Rocky Horror Show!
Are you a wild and an untamed thing? Or a creature of the night? Do you know when to jump to left and step to the right?
If so, the Pilbeam Theatre would like to hear from you!
Auditions are now open to be part of the cast of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, Rockhampton Regional Council’s 2026 musical.
There are principal and ensemble roles available.
Rockhampton Regional Council Communities, Culture and Heritage spokesperson Cr Drew Wickerson encouraged people to audition.
“The Rocky Horror Show is an iconic rock musical and I am very pleased that Rockhampton Regional Council has been able to obtain the rights to perform it as our 2026 production,” he said.
“Council has produced more than 30 community musicals over the years, giving local performers and all those involved the opportunity to enhance their skills and, at the same time, create something special for residents and visitors to enjoy.
“There is quite a buzz around town so I think that Director Amanda Hock and the creative team will have their work cut out for them in choosing the cast.
“So if you think you have what it takes to be Frank’n’Furter, Riff Raff, Brad, Janet, Columbia, Magenta or any of the other roles, or it you would prefer to be part of the ensemble of Transylvanians, make sure you apply now,” he said.
“Don’t dream it! Be it. Get involved with this great project,” Cr Wickerson said.
Auditions will be held 11-16 October. To audition, apply here: www.seeitlive.com.au/GetInvolvedRockyHorrorShow
Auditionees must be aged over 18 years as at the first rehearsal on Sunday 18 January 2026. The show contains partial nudity, intense adult themes, strong language.
But hurry. Time is fleeting. Auditions applications close on Thursday 9 October 2025.
Applications for the band, costume team and backstage crew will open shortly.
For those who prefer to watch, tickets to the show are now on sale.
The Rocky Horror Show is a Rockhampton Regional Council production, supported by The Friends of the Theatre and CQ Today.
Richard O’Briens The Rocky Horror Show will be performed for a limited season at the Pilbeam Theatre from 20 to 29 March 2026. Tickets are now on sale at www.seeitlive.com.au
