Rockhampton Regional council has announced an extra show for its 2026 musical, The Rocky Horror Show, to cater for demand.

In addition to the existing six performances, a matinee will now be held on Saturday 28 March at 2pm.

The announcement coincides with the release of ‘first look’ photos of local performers playing Frank’n’Furter, Brad, Janet, Riff Raff, Magenta and Columbia.

The season, which opens on Friday 20 March, features 25 local performers, with a six piece local band.

Rockhampton Regional Council Communities, Arts and Heritage spokesperson Cr Wickerson said:

“I am really glad that the community is supporting our local performers to the extent that an extra show has been scheduled.

“It’s a matinee, so audience members who are perhaps creatures of the afternoon instead of creatures of the night, might find this timeslot appealing,” he joked.

“Even though an extra show has been added, tickets are still available for all performances,” he said.

The Rocky Horror Show is directed by Amanda Hock, with Musical Director Stephanie Quinlan, Choreographer Lita Hegvold and Vocal Director Emma McGuire.

The Rocky Horror Show is one of the world’s most performed musicals, with hardly a year going by without a performance of the show somewhere in the world.

Australia was one of the first countries to fall in love with The Rocky Horror Show. It opened in Sydney less than a year after the London premiere and ran in Sydney/ Melbourne and Adelaide for just over three years.

Rocky’s Rocky Horror is the first time that the show has been performed by a community group in Central Queensland.

The Rocky Horror Show will be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre from 20 to 29 March 2026.
Tickets are on sale now at www.seeitlive.com.au

**Tickets are still available for all performances.
