Kershaw Gardens to host family fun day for Australia Day
Published on 25 January 2023
Great Australian Bites will return to Rockhampton for its sixth year with a jam-packed afternoon of food, live music and free family entertainment on Thursday 26 January at Kershaw Gardens.
Mayor Tony Williams said the event would feature a stellar country music line-up, amusements, circus variety shows and reptile experiences to keep the whole family entertained.
“Great Australian Bites will feature live music on stage from country music star Taylor Moss and food vendors including an Aussie BBQ and licenced bar. For nostalgia, we will enjoy the Thong Toss, Backyard Cricket, the Aussie Biscuit Challenge and a reptile show from Cooberrie Park will cap off a great Australia Day,” Mayor Williams said.
“Festivities will kick off at 3.30pm with our Australia Day Awards followed by Council’s Citizenship Ceremony welcoming new Australians.
“Kershaw Gardens is a space well used on Australia Day so we’ve set the event where those who want a quiet picnic or trip to the playground will still be able to do so.
“Join us 3.30pm to 9pm for a relaxed afternoon celebrating all things Aussie with your friends and family! Don’t forget it’s free entry, free rides, free entertainment and free games for all ages.”
