Dog Registrations due August 31

Published on 25 August 2017

Rockhampton Regional Council is reminding pet owners that annual dog registrations are due by August 31.

Chair of Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee Councillor Ellen Smith said that pet registrations are designed to add safety and security to pets, pet owners and the community.

“If you’re a current resident with a dog or have just moved to our Region, then you need to ensure that your pet is registered each year with Council,” Cr Smith said.

“No one ever wants their pet to go missing, but if that ever happens, registrations majorly assist our officers in reuniting a lost pet with its owner.

“For this reason, it’s also vital to keep your listed contact details with registrations up to date. It’s important to remember, your pet is your responsibility.”

Residents who have desexed and/or microchipped their dogs may be eligible to claim a discount, but must provide a copy of their desexing and microchipping documents at the time of payment.

Payments can be made in person at one of Council’s Customer Service Centres, via BPAY, or telephone: 1300 22 55 77.

If your animal has a current Council registration and you have not received a renewal notice, please call Rockhampton Regional Council’s Customer Service on 1300 22 55 77.
