Rockhampton Regional Council will begin an Animal Inspection Program across all properties in Berserker from Monday 1 April 2024.

This program ensures animal owners are following all relevant State and Local Laws, which aims to ensure that animals are microchipped and registered. This assists to reunite lost animals with their owners and minimise the risk to community safety through suitable enclosures and responsible pet ownership.

Council officers will check owners have fulfilled dog registration and microchipping requirements, that animals on the property are contained by adequate fencing or enclosures, and that there are only the permitted number of animals kept on each property.

Residents are reminded to ensure their dogs are microchipped and registered, and microchip details and registration are up to date.

Properties in Berserker will be inspected every day between the hours of 7am and 6pm. The program will run for twelve weeks, closing on 23 June 2024.

To register your dog, contact Council on 4932 9000 or register online through Council's website.

Council officers will ensure compliance with the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008, Rockhampton Regional Council Local Law 1 (Administration) 2011 and Rockhampton Regional Council Local Law 2 (Animal Management) 2011 in relation to the keeping of dogs.
