Council Elections
The next Queensland Local Government elections are scheduled for the last Saturday in March in 2028, and are conducted by the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ).

Local Government Elections
In the Rockhampton Region, voters elect one Mayor, and vote for a Councillor to represent the Division in which they live.
There are seven Divisions in the Rockhampton Region. If you are unsure which Council division you reside in, please feel free to contact Council's Customer Service on 07 4932 9000, or you can search for your address and download division PDF maps from the ECQ website here.

Local Government in Queensland
Local governments in Queensland are guided by the Local Government Act 2009 which came into operation from 1 July 2010. The State Government Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning oversee this legislation.
