Lost Animals
If Council finds your animal with any form of identification or registration tag, a Local Laws Officer will contact you.
Because collars and tags can easily fall off, it’s important to ensure your animal is also microchipped. Please remember to keep your animal’s microchip details up to date. Current information helps the Animal Management Centre quickly match and reunite you with your animal if it is impounded without visible identification. If you’re unsure which database your animal’s microchip is registered with, click here.
All impounded animals are held at the Animal Management Centre for a minimum of 3 days if the owner cannot be identified, or 5 days if the owner is identifiable. After this period, animals may be rehomed or euthanised. A register of animals currently at the Animal Management Centre is available below.
Due to our close proximity to Livingstone Shire Council, we also encourage you to check their Lost and Found Animal page.
There are also several Lost and Found Animal Facebook pages that may assist in your search.
