New ninja playground coming to Norman Gardens
Published on 08 May 2025
Norman Gardens is set to gain an exciting new park, as Rockhampton Regional Council begins construction on a ninja-themed playground designed to challenge and delight children of all ages.
Parks, Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford said the new park, located on Springfield Drive, will be a great addition to the area with works already underway.
“A lot of thought and community input went into the design, and the ninja course stood out as a unique, engaging option that caters to a broad age range and varying abilities,” Cr Rutherford said.
“The park will feature a dynamic play area along with shaded seating and picnic facilities.
“The playground will include obstacles and climbing structures for older children, as well as smaller elements suited to younger ages, so there’ll be something for a wide range of skill levels.
“Once complete, it will be a one-of-a-kind play space for the Rockhampton Region.”
Divisional Councillor Shane Latcham said the park was a welcome addition to the growing suburb of Norman Gardens.
“This area has seen rapid growth over recent years, with many families choosing to call it home,” Cr Latcham said.
“Having an inclusive playground nearby is a great way to support the local community and encourage outdoor activity for kids of all ages.
“I’m sure kids and parents will be eagerly waiting for the day the park is open for use and kids can test out their skills on the ninja course.”
The park is expected to be completed and open for use in July 2025.
