Mount Morgan’s Wattle Day Festival returns in 2025 having grown into one of the region’s most vibrant events with a mix of live performers, artisan market stalls, food trucks, and hands-on creative workshops.
The decade old event is expected to draw hundreds of visitors this weekend with Rockhampton Regional Council providing $2,000 through the Community Assistance Program to support the event.
This year’s event will include headline act and Australian Idol contestant Jaymon Bob as well as free wattle seedlings supplied by Golden Mount Nursery.
The event is proudly run by Mount Morgan Promotion and Development and will be held from 9am to 2.30pm on Saturday 6 September at the Mount Morgan Heritage Railway Complex, 1 Railway Parade, Mount Morgan.

Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams said the Mount Morgan Wattle Festival was a perfect day out with friends and family and a real chance to enjoy the Mount Morgan area.
“Mount Morgan is such as special place and we are really pleased to provide the support through the Community Assistance Program to help deliver this event,” Mayor Williams said.
“I’ve spent many years attending the Wattle Day Festival and it’s always a big winner with locals and visitors alike.
“I encourage everyone come along and enjoy the live music, markets and of course take home one of those special wattle seedlings courtesy of Golden Mount Nursery.
Communities Culture and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said that headline artist Jaymon Bob of Australian Idol renown will be central to the action at the free family event at the Mt Morgan Railway Museum.
“With live entertainment galore, more than 50 market stall holders, amusement rides and a petting zoo it will be a great day in Mount Morgan,” Cr Wickerson said.
“Mount Morgan has such special history and the Wattle Festival, celebrating the Mount Morgan Wattle, brings people to the town to support local businesses and explore one of our most historic townships.”
Mount Morgan Promotion and Development President John Steinberger said the Wattle Festival provided an economic boost to the town allowing small businesses to leverage off the event.
“Mount Morgan takes pride in its historic origins, and we have wonderful close-knit community here,” Mr Steinberger said.
“Our town is semi-rural in nature and the Festival allows us to promote the artistic and local cottage industry we have.
“The festival promises to continue on from previous years with a fun filled day, jam packed with live music entertainment and plenty of opportunities to learn new skills.
“After the success of last year’s creative workshops, Festival patrons will again have the opportunity to participate in one on offer, from creative flower art and paint pouring workshops to stained glass windcatchers and circus workshops. ”
