Advance Rockhampton is undertaking an extensive engagement program to understand the community’s views and opinions on how to improve, grow and strengthen the Rockhampton region.

As part of the engagement series, the Advance Rockhampton Economic Development Survey (AREDS) will seek the community’s thoughts on:

  • Their local neighbourhood
  • Rockhampton as a liveable city
  • Priorities to improve the quality of life of the community
  • Ideas for new festivals & events for the region
  • Ideas for new businesses, experiences & tourist attractions for the region

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said it’s essential to bring together the views and opinions from community members to help direct the growth of the region.

“The Rockhampton Region is in a prime position to launch itself into the future, and this engagement piece delivers upon one of Council’s priorities to sustain a vibrant community,” Mayor Williams said.

“The information collected from this survey forms an important pillar to the construction of the Rockhampton Region Economic Strategy and Action Plan 2021-2026.”

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden said the business community’s participation in the Rockhampton Region Precinct Activation Survey (RRPAS) conducted earlier this year has also been a crucial building block in the development of the Rockhampton Region Economic Strategy and Action Plan .

“Over the last nine months a key focus for Advance Rockhampton has been engaging industry groups and engaging businesses, from the micro level through to the Region’s largest and engaging our Federal and State Government counterparts,” Mr Bowden said.

“Now my team is focusing on the most important participant in the community – the Rockhampton Region residents.

“We’re looking forward to engaging with the community to build the Rockhampton Region Economic Strategy and Action Plan, where we all have a say and all play a part to build a bigger and better Rocky.”

The survey is 8 minutes in length and can be accessed via multiple avenues:
