Adopt-A-Beast

Adopt-A-Beast is a not-for-profit organisation based in Rockhampton, Queensland. It is the only organisation in Australia solely dedicated to assisting Australian farmers with the replenishment of livestock during post-crisis times.

Founded in 2019 following the devastating floods in Julia Creek and surrounding Queensland regions, Adopt-A-Beast was created in response to the significant loss of livestock and the long-term financial and emotional impact this had on farming communities. The organisation recognises that for many farmers, livestock loss during floods, droughts, bushfires, or disease outbreaks can take generations to recover from.

Adopt-A-Beast raises funds primarily through community raffles, events, and donations, with all proceeds directed toward purchasing breeding livestock such as cattle to help farmers rebuild their herds. By doing so, the organisation plays a direct role in restoring livelihoods, strengthening rural communities.
