2026 Rockhampton Eisteddfod

Planning is underway for the 89th Rockhampton Eisteddfod which will commence on Tuesday 5 May 2026 commencing with the Speech and Drama and Signing Choirs sections to be conducted in the Pilbeam Theatre and the Walter Reid Cultural Centre auditorium. Rockhampton Regional Council is again the major sponsor of this annual event and the Eisteddfod Association greatly appreciates Council support. The Speech and Drama section will be followed by a Dance Groups Weekend on 9 and 10 May. This year a limited number of Solo Dance sections will also be re-introduced. The 2026 Rockhampton Eisteddfod then moves into the Vocal section commencing on 12 May featuring school choirs and ensembles. The 2026 Rockhampton Eisteddfod will then conclude with the Piano and Instrumental Music section from 18 May through to 24 May

Dates for the sections for the 89th Rockhampton Eisteddfod are:

Speech and Drama 5 May - 8 May

Signing Choirs 5 May

Dance Groups and Limited Solo items 9 May - 10 May

Vocal and Choral 12 May - 17 May

Piano and Instrumental 18 May - 24 May

All of the above dates are inclusive.

Entries for the 2026 Rockhampton Eisteddfod will close on Friday 6 March 2026.
