National Tree Day
National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature care event. It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.
One of the best things about National Tree Day is watching the trees planted from previous years grow and mature into flourishing, green areas that our community and visitors can enjoy every day and for years to come.
Rockhampton Regional Council is hosting this year’s National Tree Day community planting site at Touch of Paradise (Cedric Archer Park), Gracemere.
There are three National Tree Day community planting sessions to choose from, promptly commencing at 8am, 9am and 10am.
Rockhampton Regional Council is encouraging all green thumbs to keep the last weekend in July free each year, as a day to unite and dig in, at tree planting events across the region during National Tree Day.
Keep an eye out on Council's events and Facebook page for more information.
