Rockhampton Regional Council has completed more than150 water main repairs across the region, with ongoing investment keeping essential water and sewer services running reliably for residents.
The works form part of an ongoing maintenance and upgrade program delivered by Council’s Fitzroy River Water team, which services 904 kilometres of water mains and 784 kilometres of sewer mains.
In recent months, major upgrades have been carried out at key sites, including the Agnes Street Water Pump Station, where new pumps, motors and pipework have been installed. Crews have also overhauled pump and motor assemblies at the Highlift Water Pump Station as part of the four-year maintenance schedule.
Council is also continuing to invest in long-term infrastructure renewal, with three kilometres of sewer relining scheduled as part of the 2025/26 sewer rehabilitation program.
Maintaining and renewing essential water and sewer infrastructure remains a key priority as Council plans for future growth and continued service reliability.
