Families across the Region will be able to enjoy free outdoor movies thanks to a partnership between Rockhampton Regional Council and CQ Starlight Cinema.

The free events - taking place in Gracemere, North and South Rockhampton, and Mount Morgan – will see family friendly movies like Angry Birds played in our parks. In the lead up to Christmas CQ Starlight will be getting into the festive spirit by screening Elf and Arthur Christmas.

Angry Birds will be on in Conaghan Park, Gracemere, from 6.30pm this Friday 17 November. Divisional Councillor, Ellen Smith, said it was wonderful to have free family activities available to the community.

“This week in Gracemere we have seen the final stage of the Cedric Archer Park development completed, and I am so pleased that we will host the first outdoor movie screening.

“It is wonderful to have so many free family activities available to the community, and I very much hope people will come down to enjoy it. There will be food and drink available to buy, including popcorn, so it is set to be a lovely evening.”

Arthur Christmas will be shown in Rockhampton on Friday 1st December from 6.45pm.

Elf will be shown in Mount Morgan on Friday 15th December from 7pm.
