Start a business

Tired of your 9 to 5? Wish you could take your business idea to the next level?

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of Rockhampton Regional Council’s SmartHub Startup Weekend!

The weekend, which takes place from this Friday, at Rockhampton’s SmartHub on located at Customs House on Quay Street, is a great opportunity for professional development and networking for those looking to start a business.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said the Startup Weekends are open to anyone of just about any age who has a business idea and wants to learn how to see it reach fruition.

“The Startup Weekend events commenced in June 2017 in Rockhampton and already have a huge success rate and a promising track record helping local entrepreneurs kick-start their own business,” Mayor Strelow said.

“In one weekend, you can leave with incredible knowledge on business pitches, business plan development and even prototype creations.

“There are only 30 spots left for the next event, so we are really encouraging anyone interested to secure their spot.”

The Startup Weekend will take place from July 26-28. Tickets are just $50 per person, and includes food and drinks throughout the weekend.
