Rockhampton Regional Council is asking South Rockhampton and Gracemere residents to be mindful of their water usage this week during planned maintenance works.

Water Councillor Donna Kirkland said Council is required to undertake maintenance of critical infrastructure within the Athelstane Range reservoir site from tomorrow, Tuesday 9 May to Friday 12 May.

“We are asking the community to reduce their water usage where possible this week,” Cr Kirkland said.

“At this stage, maintenance works will commence Tuesday night and are expected to be completed Friday afternoon.

“I want to emphasise this is not a cause for concern but something we want people to be mindful of for the duration of the works.

“For the three days, we ask residents to put off washing their car, watering gardens, and anything else outside that can wait. It is the small things like this that will make a big difference.

“We also want to assure the Mount Morgan community the water cartage will continue during this time and we thank the residents for their continued efforts while these level 6 restrictions remain in place.”
