Rockhampton Regional Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from community members to join the Rockhampton Agricultural Show Advisory Committee (RASAC), helping shape the future of one of the region’s most enduring and well-loved annual events.
Held annually in June, the Rockhampton Agricultural Show plays a vital role in community culture, education and wellbeing, celebrating the region’s rich agricultural heritage while bringing people together from across the local community. The RASAC plays a pivotal role in guiding the Show’s ongoing development, ensuring it remains relevant and sustainable while still reflecting its proud agricultural and community heritage.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the Rockhampton Show is an event that has been loved by the community for more than 125 years, and it’s important that we continue to evolve the Show while respecting its history and the role it plays in bringing our community together.
“Being part of the Committee allows community members to contribute their insights and play an active role in the Show’s continued success,” Mayor Williams said.
Rockhampton Region Councillor and Show Committee Member Grant Mathers said the Rockhampton Agricultural Show is built on the passion and pride of our community, and this committee is a chance for locals to help shape its next chapter.
“We want people who care deeply about the Show’s future to bring their ideas, experience and energy to the table so we can continue delivering an event that truly reflects our region,” Councillor Mathers said.
Council is seeking individuals who are passionate about the Rockhampton Show and have skills, experience or qualifications that may support this advisory role, including (but not limited to) agriculture, leadership, governance, community involvement or stakeholder engagement. Members will provide input into the Show’s strategic direction, planning and stakeholder engagement, with regular meetings held throughout the year.
As part of the EOI process, applicants will be required to submit:
- A completed digital application form addressing relevant skills, experience and/or qualifications
- A current curriculum vitae (CV)
- Up to three (3) relevant references
If you are passionate about agriculture, events, community development, or the future of the Rockhampton Agricultural Show, we encourage you to apply. Successful applicants must be willing to commit to scheduled committee meetings.
Expressions of Interest close 3 April 2026.
