School holidays sorted with family fun across the Region
Published on 27 June 2025
Families across the Rockhampton Region are in for a treat these school holidays, with a huge range of free and low-cost activities on offer to keep the kids entertained and active.
Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams said there’s no need to travel far to enjoy an exciting school holiday break.
“We know parents are always on the lookout for ways to keep the kids busy during the holidays, especially without breaking the bank,” Mayor Williams said.
“There’s so much happening right here in our own backyard, from free creative workshops and zoo visits, to live shows, sporting events and more.
“Whether it’s strolling through the Zoo, riding the Purrey Steam Tram at Archer Park, or getting hands-on at the Museum of Art, there’s something for every age and interest.
“These school holidays are also a great time to explore our beautiful parks and community spaces, from Kershaw Gardens and Mount Archer to the Riverside Precinct.
“Council is proud to support a diverse and engaging school holiday program for local families.
“I encourage everyone to check out what’s on and make the most of these great local experiences.
“And while you’re out and about, please remember to drive carefully near parks and community spaces now that school’s out – let’s keep everyone safe while we enjoy the fun.”
