From workshops in digital marketing, to safety solutions and creating excellence in Customer Service, Rockhampton Regional Council is hosting a range of free business seminars as part of Queensland’s Small Business Week which runs from 28 May to 1 June.

Held on Thursday May 31 and Friday June 1, local businesses can benefit from their choice of seven free workshops that will help owners and employees acquire new skills and tools that can be transferred into the workplace.

Council’s General Manager of Advance Rockhampton Tony Cullen said the seminars, arranged by Council’s Advance Rockhampton team, cover various topics to suit all businesses no matter their industry or size.

“Nowadays, all businesses, whether they employ one person or a hundred, need an online presence, need to be able to provide solutions and value for their clients and they need to be resilient, which is what these workshops will be covering next week,” Mr Cullen said.

“Small Business Week celebrates the vital contribution small business makes to our local economy, and while it may only come around once a year, Council’s Advance Rockhampton team is committed to assisting small businesses all year long.

“We recently opened the second round of the subsidised Certificate IV in Small Business Management, which once again proved to be in high demand. This is just one of many ways we want to help local businesses with tangible training outcomes that add value to their workforce.

“I strongly encourage every local business to take some time out of their day to take advantage of one, or all, of the free workshops being held next week and the opportunity to network, connect, and learn new skills and tools that could make a difference from now and into the future,” Mr Cullen said.
