Rockhampton Regional Council certified agreement negotiations

PUBLIC NOTICE

Rockhampton Regional Council advises that some of its services may be impacted as of Monday, 1 September 2025 due to ongoing negotiations between Council and the Queensland Services, Industrial Union of Employees (QSU).

Council commenced negotiations in January 2025 for a new Certified Agreement covering internal employees. The QSU, a party to the Agreement, has formally notified Council of its intention to undertake protected industrial action beginning Monday.

Council respects the legal right of employees to participate in industrial action. At the same time, we are taking appropriate steps under the legislation to manage and respond to the proposed action responsibly and in the best interests of our community.

Some services that may be impacted include administration, technical services, professional roles, community services, local laws and theatre operations.

Council is committed to keeping the public informed and will provide updates, as necessary.
