Mount Morgan Buy Local Keeps Community Growth Local
Published on 12 October 2026
Mount Morgan’s economic growth is being strengthened one purchase at a time this festive season, with the 2026 Buy Local Campaign officially beginning today.
Supported by Rockhampton Regional Council’s lead economic development agency, Advance Rockhampton, the annual initiative from Mount Morgan Promotion and Development Inc. (MMPAD) encourages residents and visitors to support businesses in the Mount Morgan district. Customers can go into the draw to win a share in thousands of dollars’ worth of prize vouchers to be redeemed at local businesses.
To enter, shoppers simply need to spend $20 at a participating business and place their receipt into an entry box to go into the draw. The winners will be announced at the Mount Morgan Twilight Christmas Concert on 18 December.
Mount Morgan Buy Local delivers real results for the local economy, generating around 3,000 entries annually and supporting at least $60,000 in local spending. Last year, 30 local businesses participated in the campaign which is roughly 1 in 3 operators in the Mount Morgan district.
Advance Rockhampton recognises the importance of supporting businesses in the area and has committed to supporting the Buy Local campaign through a multi-year sponsorship, which currently runs until the end of 2027.
This year’s campaign runs until 16 December. For more information, visit https://www.mountmorgan.org.au/.
