Local entrepreneurs warned not to miss out

Entrepreneurs in the Rockhampton Region are being warned not to miss out on a heavily discounted training program running out of Rockhampton’s Smart Hub, with applications closing on Monday.

The Startup Onramp is a training program comprising of twelve sessions on how to start a tech company, and covers everything you need to know in the early days of your Startup. It normally retails at $3,995, but a 70% discount is available taking the cost down to $1,200. There are also a small number of fully sponsored places.

Rockhampton Region Mayor, Margaret Strelow, said it was a fantastic opportunity.

“Here we have yet another example of Council and the Smart Hub supporting the Startups of today, as we know they will be the businesses of tomorrow.

“For the budding entrepreneurs out there are thinking about starting, or those that have recently started, a tech company, this brilliant program will help you plan your next move.

“It compromises of a two-hour workshop each week, plus two additional immersive weekend sessions, covering a range of topics including naming, legal basics, PR and marketing, and how to make a great pitch.

“This program is also reminder that you don’t need to head to Brisbane or Sydney to start a successful tech company – you can do it right here in the Rockhampton Region.

“So if you aren’t sure how to get started or how to most effectively invest your time and money, make sure you get your application in by Monday 17 September to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”
