Rockhampton Regional Council have been busy getting into the festive spirit with preparations well underway for the annual CBD Christmas Fair on Saturday 2 December.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said Council is excited to deliver the much-loved free Christmas Fair on Quay Street and the Riverside Precinct with free arts and craft activities for the kids, market stalls, food vendors, outdoor cinema, photos with Santa and the official lighting of the Christmas Tree.

“The CBD Christmas Fair and the lighting of the tree is one of Council’s favourite community events and I encourage everyone to save-the-date and join us Riverside to celebrate the festive season,” Mayor Williams said.

“For the younger members of our community, the holiday spirit begins even earlier this year! Starting November 1st, a special letterbox will make its appearance at Customs House. If you place your letter to Santa inside and include your home address, we'll ensure Santa Claus writes back to you before Christmas Day.”

Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager, Zac Garven said in addition to the CBD Christmas Fair, Explore Rockhampton have developed an online hub for all things Christmassy in the Rockhampton Region at www.explorerockhampton.com.au/Christmas.

“The online hub will allow easy navigation for everything happening this festive season across our Region, including a self-guided tour of Christmas Lights, the Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight events, the Heritage Village Christmas Markets and your community Christmas Carol events; Rockhampton is definitely looking very festive this year,” Mr Garven said.
