Performed by internationally acclaimed tribute artist Greg Andrew, the show combines Elton John’s greatest songs with behind-the-scenes stories and personal insights, creating a heartfelt concert experience for audiences of all ages, plus a complementary morning tea as part of the Morning Melodies program.
Through The Elton John Experience, Greg has brought the music of Elton John and Bernie Taupin to life across more than 30 countries, performing to over half a million fans worldwide.
“For me, the songs Elton John and Bernie Taupin created together across five decades are like growing up alongside a lifelong friend who has always been there,” Greg explains. “Their music is timeless, crossing generations. I see grandparents, parents, and young adults all enjoying the show together. While the 1970s were a groundbreaking era for them, the next generation grew up with The Lion King. That’s why I believe there’s something in this show for everyone—an intimate celebration of Elton’s extraordinary music and piano artistry,” Mr Andrew said.
Greg Andrew is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading Elton John tribute artists. In 2017, he became the first—and remains the only—Elton John tribute artist ever invited to perform at TRIBFEST UK, the world’s largest and most prestigious tribute festival.
Greg’s own journey began with Candle in the Wind, the song that first captured his imagination as a child. “I remember learning that beautiful melody when I was young,” says Mr Andrew. “Studying classical piano before attending the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, I often noticed parallels with Elton’s own path. Performing these iconic songs and seeing the audience’s reaction is an incredible honour and privilege.”
ROCKETMAN – FLYING SOLO showcases the very best of Elton’s catalogue—from early classics like Daniel and Honky Cat, to iconic ballads including Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Candle in the Wind, through to upbeat anthems like Crocodile Rock. Broadway favourites from The Lion King also feature, along with songs perfectly suited to the stripped-back solo format.
The result is a spectacular show from beginning to end—an intimate exchange of energy and love for the music of Elton John. This show and these songs will give you the true, up close and personal Elton experience.
