Did you know Rockhampton Regional Council has over 100 parks across the entire Region?

Whether it is taking the kids to the playground, getting in some exercise, walking the dog, having a BBQ, or holding a birthday party, our local parks have the ability to shape our communities.

Rockhampton Regional Council is encouraging residents from far and wide to provide feedback on their local parks and the facilities within them.

Sports, Parks and Recreation Councillor Cherie Rutherford says this is the perfect opportunity for people from all over the region to get on board and have their say on their favourite and most visited local parks.

“Our parks are so important to our way of life and we are fortunate to have such a wide range to choose from and enjoy,” Cr Rutherford said.

“It is no secret that the iconic Botanic Gardens, the award winning Fraser Park and Kershaw Gardens are truly magnificent and important assets for our region, but equally as important, are the little local parks dotted around our communities.

“We all use these spaces for so many different reasons and it is these parks that help make up the fabric of our community.

“We take pride in our parks and public spaces and we want to make sure that they meet the needs of our community now and for generations to come.

“It is really important that we understand not only how people use these spaces, but also how they feel about the condition of our parks and the facilities within them.

“We are asking that residents across the Rockhampton Region take this opportunity to provide us with valuable feedback that will help guide some of our planning and maintenance priorities.”
