Rockhampton Regional Council through Advance Rockhampton have secured Rockhampton’s first Fox Superflow Mountain Biking Event to be held in region July 9-10 at the First Turkey trails.

Hosted by Rocky Trail Entertainment, the Rockhampton Fox Superflow event is part of the ‘gravity enduro’ mountain biking series which runs around the country, attracting hundreds of riders from out of region to participate.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said Rockhampton Regional Council are proud to be the destination partner of this awesome and exciting event.

“Securing a Fox Superflow event in Rockhampton not only as part of the national series but as a qualifier for the Enduro World Series will continue to put Rockhampton on the radar as one of Australia’s top winter mountain biking destinations,” Mayor Williams said.

“With 50kms of trails across Rockhampton’s two premier mountain bike parks, First Turkey and Mount Morgan, combined with 300 days of sunshine and a sub-tropical climate, Rockhampton is a destination of choice for mountain bike riders of all skill levels.”

Rocky Trail Entertainment National Event Manager Jo Parker is excited to have Rockhampton on the race calendar in 2022.

“As an Enduro World Series qualifier, the Rockhampton event is positioned as one of the most attractive on this year’s calendar, and we’re expecting many interstate racers and racers from South East Queensland to participate,” Ms Parker said.

“The event format also provides a strong social component, with riders being able to take their time during the transition to the next downhill racing section, catering specifically to families, groups of friends and couples, encompassing different ages, abilities and riding preferences.”

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden said Council’s sponsorship of this event aligns with the ‘Ride Rocky’ winter mountain biking tourism campaign currently in market.

“The ‘Ride Rocky’ campaign builds on the great work the Advance Rockhampton team are doing in putting Rockhampton at the forefront of visitor’s minds during the dreaming and planning phases of their next mountain biking holiday,” Mr Bowden said.

“The Fox Superflow event creates the perfect opportunity for locals to invite their friends and relatives to Rockhampton to experience the trails and all the other great attractions our region has on offer.”
