East Street’s final set of fairy lights will switch on tonight

Watch East Street light up tonight at 5.30pm with the second and final instalment of fairy lights.

Over twenty trees have been wrapped in lights from William to Fitzroy Street as part of Council’s CBD Revitalisation.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow is inviting everyone to watch the city’s newest permanent feature take the limelight.  

“If you haven’t visited East Street for a while then come and watch as it turns on its night time charm,” Mayor Strelow said.

“This is the beginning of a new vibe for our iconic CBD with the first set off lights already proving to be quite a drawcard. We are excited to see the end product.”
