Mayor Tony Williams is encouraging residents across Livingstone and Rockhampton Region to read and compare the public submissions both Councils have made on the Northern Boundary Review.

“The message of our submission is clear,” Mayor Williams said.

“Only Rockhampton will provide the services and infrastructure to grow the Northern Suburbs.

“Only Rockhampton will create more jobs and more money flowing into our local economies both here and at the beach.

“Only Rockhampton has a considered plan for development that will allow for growth but also protect the rural character of these suburbs.

“Where Livingstone’s submission focuses on a short term financial impact – one that we’ve already demonstrated we’re more than happy to have a discussion about – our submission focuses on a better future for all of us.

“If you’re an enrolled elector in either Local Government Area and you’re undecided on your vote, I would really urge you to take a look at both submissions.

“Your voice is important. Your vote is important. I hope you’ll lend it toward a better future for everyone.”

Both submissions are public on the Electoral Commission Queensland website: https://www.ecq.qld.gov.au/electoral-boundaries/local-government-boundary-reviews/external-boundary-and-electoral-arrangement-reviews/livingstone-shire-council-and-rockhampton-regional-council-external-boundary-review
