Council appoints new Executive Manager of Advance Rockhampton

Rockhampton Regional Council is excited to announce the appointment of Angus Russell as Executive Manager of Advance Rockhampton.

Rockhampton Region Mayor and Advance Rockhampton Portfolio Councillor, Tony Williams said he was looking forward to capitalising on Angus’ extensive experience and expertise.

“Angus has been involved in the planning of a number of major projects including Rookwood Weir, the Gracemere Overpass, Gracemere Industrial Area and the Rockhampton Ring Road,” Cr Tony Williams said.

“In this role, Angus will consolidate the Advance Rockhampton, Strategic Planning and Community Master Planning teams to enhance the overall regional economic development efforts of Council.”

“This is an exciting new chapter for Rockhampton’s leading economic development team and one that will only enhance our region’s future.”

Council’s CEO Evan Pardon has welcomed the change, with Angus currently serving as a member of Rockhampton Regional Council’s executive leadership team and bringing across more than 13 years of service within the organisation.

“Angus brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to lead the Advance Rockhampton team. He has a unique combination of technical and leadership experience in economic development, infrastructure planning, engineering and land use planning and has worked collaboratively with a diverse range of government and business stakeholders,” Evan Pardon said.

“As a long-term Rockhampton local, Angus has built a trusted network and has a deep commitment to the future growth and prosperity of the region.”

Angus has hit the ground running already commencing in the role and is looking forward to building on the great work the organisation has been able to achieve since its inception in 2015. He will be strongly supported by Zac Garven as Tourism and Events Manager and Wade Clarke as Economic Development Manager.

“With a strong 5-year plan to realise the future growth opportunities in the Rockhampton Region and a dedicated team behind delivering it, I look forward to continuing to support the growth of Rockhampton and Central Queensland to ensure our region is a great place to live, visit and invest,” Angus Russell said.
