In a project supported by Rockhampton Regional Council, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be carrying out works on the walking track between the amphitheatre at Fraser Park and the Grass Tree Lookout.
This has resulted in the closure of the track and the lookout from Monday 22 February 2021.
These works mark the commencement of the QPWS Zamia Walk revitalisation project. The revitalisation of the Zamia Walk is part of a staged approach to provide better experiences for everyone who visits Mount Archer National Park and Fraser Park.
There will be no impact to the Fraser Park carpark, the playground, or Nurim Circuit.
Hikers can still complete the entire Zamia Walk, however with works planned for later in the year, QPWS are encouraging trail goers to keep up to date with the latest park alerts. https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/park-alerts
Thank you for your patience while these works are carried out.
