Get ready to dive into the fascinating world of water at the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant Community Open Day this Saturday, 25 October.

Water Councillor Edward Oram said the event is being held in celebration of National Water Week and offers a day of discovery, learning, and hands-on fun.

“We’re really excited to open the gates of the water treatment plant to the community on Saturday and celebrate the vital role water plays in our everyday lives,” Cr Oram said.

“The open day offers a rare opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and see the journey water takes from the source to our sinks.

“Guests will be able to take a guided tour of the treatment plant and see first-hand how water is processed and treated before it makes its way to the tap.

“You’ll also be able to explore interactive exhibits, hear from guest speakers, and enjoy a range of activities for the whole family.”

Environmental Sustainability Councillor Elliot Hilse said the event will also be packed with practical tips for saving water.

“Water Week is a great time to celebrate this amazing resource and learn how to look after it,” Cr Hilse said.

“Even small changes at home can make a big difference – whether its finding water leaks or timing your water use.

“The stalls on Saturday will give you plenty of ideas on how to get started.”
