The Rockhampton Riverside is set to be a hub of activity yet again this weekend as the region’s best culinary talent, winemakers, craft brewers and spirits producers come together to tantalise the tastebuds of Central Queensland.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Margaret Strelow said Council was a proud supporter of the event.

“We are a festival partner and delighted to help bring this event to our region for what is now its seventh year,” said Mayor Strelow.

“I am sure we are all excited to see pop up kitchens and live music bring a buzz to the Riverside Precinct.

“The Festival will again play host to signature events including Twilight Tastings, Farmer Meets Foodie Chef’s Table and The ‘Hamptons Beach Party’, as well as demonstrations by renowned local chefs and more.

“As always events like this require some preparation and adjustments to ensure the safety of event organisers and the community. There are some road closures in place from today, and we want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”

For the safety of event organisers and the community, there is a current full road closure of Quay Street between William and Denham Street until 6am Tuesday 29 September.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and observe all signs and traffic directions. Council apologises for any inconvenience.

Capricorn Food and Wine Festival has worked closely with Queensland Health to develop a COVID Safe Plan for this event. Festival attendees are asked to follow all COVID Safe instructions at the event to ensure the safety of those attending.
