Organisations across the Region are being encouraged to take advantage of Rockhampton Regional Council’s Community Assistance Program (CAP), which supports non-profits to put on events and complete projects.

Council’s Communities Committee Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said applications for Round Three of the funding would stay open until March 19.

“We want our local organisations to be able to showcase their exciting events and activities throughout the year. Last financial year we supported 78 non-profits to the tune of $381,000.

“Events we have supported in the past include charity sports matches and family fun days, whilst project funding has resulted in improved facilities and increased accessibility.

“By helping these groups achieve their goals our entire community can have opportunities to enjoy anything from sport to arts and crafts and lots in between.”

Community groups need to meet specific criteria relating to each grant type, which are outlined in the fact sheets found on Council’s website.
