About the Tutor
Meekz Contemporary Jewellery is the independent jewellery and accessories label created by Lockyer Valley silversmith Jemica Ostrofski. Following her passion for art and design, Jemica studied fine art becoming a qualified jeweller after realising her passion for minimalist sculptural form. Inspired by fashion design, costume jewellery and urban geometric form, her jewellery is individually hand crafted and each piece tells a story.
Adopting an ethically responsible and environmentally friendly practice, all Meekz collections are made using recycled materials such as road signs, kitchen splash backing, electrical wire and sterling silver, transforming the everyday into something unique and beautiful.
Inspired to pass on her skills and knowledge, Jemica held her first jewellery making workshop in 2015. Designed for all skill levels, Jemica’s workshops offer an insight into the life of a jeweller. From private one-to-one sessions to group classes, her workshops aim to encourage creativity, confidence and learning.
