John Brack | Portraits on Paper

Would you like to hone your portrait skills? As part of the John Brack: Works on Paper we will be offering this one off Portraits on Paper workshop. This 3 hour workshop will allow you to create your own portrait on paper.

Gain confidence in drawing yourself using a photo reference, a digital selfie reference and a mirror. Have fun creating a unique version of yourself while learning some basic portraiture drawing techniques.

Think about portraiture as self expression and commentary on your daily routine as well as a representation of our times rather than perfecting the realism of the image.

Support material to take home with technical information, handy hints and references to portraiture in contemporary art will be provided. Please bring an image (printed or digital) of yourself in a setting of your choice (it can be anything to do with daily rituals and should only comprise of head and shoulders. This will be used for reference as well as establishing proportions for the drawing).
