Dr. Leonie Gray 
Philanthropy Board Chair

Leonie, has been involved with the Rockhampton Art Gallery from the early 1980s. Her interest and appreciation of art was fostered by her parents’ strong love of art. Leonie has supported local artists by collecting their work over the years. She is also a regular donor, as were her family. Leonie has been an Art Gallery Trustee since 2001 and from 2017 Chair of the Rockhampton Art philanthropy board. Leonie is delighted that Rockhampton will achieve the dream of a new Art Gallery in the near future. She is very excited about the future of Rockhampton Art Gallery and bringing the gallery to the community. Her aim is continue to grow the magnificent local collection with the help on philanthropists and to help the community make the Art Gallery their own. Leonie is a long-term past resident of Rockhampton only recently moving to Emu Park. She is passionate about the benefits of living regionally, loves travelling and being active.

Suzi Blair
Philanthropy Board Member

 

Suzi has extensive experience in philanthropy governance, strategy development and communications that will be vital in the coming years for the Rockhampton Art Gallery Philanthropy Board. She holds tertiary qualifications in marketing, public relations, management and philanthropy and has worked in a professional leadership capacity in the philanthropy field for more than decade. Suzi was the Foundation Director of Development and Alumni Relations at CQUniversity, and in this role she introduced a comprehensive relationship development and fundraising program, including governance, communications, team and strategy development and cultural change. Suzi is a long-term Rockhampton resident and is an advocate for regional Australian living. She has a lifelong love of the arts; sport, travel and reading.  Previously, Suzi has served the Rockhampton region as a committee member of Regional Development Australia, Rockhampton Regional Museum and Rockhampton Regional Development Business Development. Currently she is also a member of the Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Alliance.

Bronwyn Fenech

Bronwyn Fenech is the Managing Director and Artistic Director of Fenech Multimedia Studios aka FMSTUDIOS.  Bronwyn’s creativity, vivacious personality, zeal and bright orange hair have propelled FMSTUDIOS as the desired boutique design studio within the Central Queensland region with a national and international client base. Starting as a 22 year old ex-hairstylist, Bronwyn has grown the business from a one person operation to a team of 7 professionals and in 2017 FMSTUDIOS celebrates 15 years in business. Bronwyn’s main passions are her young family, business, encouraging women and young entrepreneurs into business, technology, art and community. Bronwyn is passionate about the local community and continually sponsors and donates to local community events, organisations, NFP's and sporting clubs. Bronwyn was a finalist in the 2009 TELSTRA Young Business Women's Award, she regularly speaks to local businesses, community groups and is a business mentor for new businesses and entrepreneurs within Central Queensland. She was a founding member of numerous local business networking groups including, Regional Womens Network CQ, Museum of Central Queensland Incorporated,  Capricorn Launch Pad Young Professionals Network and has recently been appointed as a board member on Every Child Central Queensland. She has energising dedication to the Rockhampton Art Gallery with a high focus on contributing to creating a creative, vibrant cultural space in Central Queensland for future generations to enjoy and embrace.

Bianca Acimovic
Gallery Director  

Bianca Acimovic has over 15 years’ experience has worked in a range of positions across a number of cultural facilities as part of regional galleries, state intuitions, University Galleries and State Department. Holding a variety of positions throughout the east coast of Australia, Bianca Acimovic has been part of institutions including University Art Museum, University of Queensland; Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA); Public Art Agency, Arts Queensland; Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG); Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) and currently with the Rockhampton  Art Gallery. In these positions she has developed a record of positively contributing to the development and management of the galleries, expanding engagement and breaking down stigmas to sit these intuitions at the heart of community. Bianca Acimovic holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Sculpture and Gallery Studies, graduating with Dean Commendations. Specialising in the operations and management of cultural institutions.   Bianca Acimovic holds a Master of Museum Studies, undertaking a dissertation of the processes and effects of local government reform on cultural institutions. In understanding the changing pressures and economic realities of cultural facilities, Bianca Acimovic is now undertaking a Master of Applied Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Collective Bianca has specialised her formal training in contemporary art, with a focus on the operation and management of art institutions in an innovative and progressive mode.

Maria Harms
Philanthropy Board Member

Maria Harms is a Chartered Accountant who works with her husband in their local property business. Born in Rockhampton and loves this region and believes that people living regionally should have access to great art. Maria has been on the Rockhampton Art Gallery Philanthropy Board and its predecessor Trust for 8 years.

Tracey Siddins

Tracey Siddins grew up in Rockhampton and has an extensive background in marketing, design and business management.  She has a Masters of Business Administrations, a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and is a Certified Practicing Marketer. Her business, Marketing Mafia, is a full service marketing firm that specialises in integrated marketing communications strategy development and implementation. Tracey has been involved in the Friends of the Rockhampton Art Gallery committee for four years and has been President for the past two years. Since Tracey has been involved in the committee she has loved seeing the growth and changes of the gallery. She is extremely excited for the new gallery and wholeheartedly believes in the potential of the Rockhampton Art Gallery and is always looking for ways that that Friends committee can help further grow the collection and engagement with its members and community.

Zac holds the exciting role of Tourism, Marketing, and Business Development Manager for The Cassidy Group (Empire and Edge Apartment Hotels).  He grew up in CQ but has also lived in southern metro cities and in the USA with diverse careers in business development and sales, radio marketing, broadcasting and advertising. Zac currently promotes the ‘CQ Experience’ to domestic and international travel agencies/wholesalers - inspiring them to visit our region.  In his role as a Young Tourism Leader for the Queensland Government, he inspires the next generation to enter the Tourism industry. Zac is also a current member of: Queensland Government’s Young Tourism Leaders; Capricorn Enterprise’s Tourism Management Committee; RRC’s Fishing the Fitzroy Committee; Rockhampton Regional Council Show Committee.

Warwick Anderson
Philanthropy Board Member

 

Warwick is a trade qualified Letterpress & Offset printer with tertiary qualifications in Marketing & Human Resources. Running the 4th Generation Family printing business with over  30 years’ experience in the industry.  He is as local and community minded and supports a large array of organisations throughout Central Queensland. His interest in art was formed while attending the Rockhampton Grammar School and was encouraged & fostered  by his parents.  He feels it is an honour to be a part of the arts community in Central Queensland and one of the largest regional collections in Australia. He has been a former Trust and current Philanthropy Board member since 2003.  Other interests including his family are he is currently the Treasurer of the Central Queensland Racing Club, member of the Past Student Association at the Rockhampton Grammar School, and a member of the Rockhampton Golf Club.

Mayor Margaret Strelow

Mayor Margaret Strelow has proudly served as the Mayor of both Rockhampton City and the Rockhampton Region from 2000 to 2008 and returning in April 2012 to again see successful re-election in 2016. With a strong emphasis on reshaping the economy, delivery of iconic major projects, and strengthening community programs, Mayor Strelow is committed to the growth and development of the Rockhampton Region where future generations can enjoy a quality lifestyle and a variety of educational and employment opportunities. Mayor Strelow holds the following qualifications: BA, DipTeach(Primary), BE.C.Ed, M.ED, Grad.Dip.Loc.App.Hist, GAICD.
