Lease of Restaurant - Rockhampton Museum of Art

Restaurant Lease_479x300.jpg

Tenders are being sought for the exclusive lease of part of the ground level restaurant and bar area within the new Rockhampton Museum of Art.

The available space consists of a commercial kitchen and service area and indoor (air conditioned) dining space opening up internally to the Long Gallery in the Rockhampton Museum of Art and externally to the colonnade and the iconic Customs House.

Rockhampton Museum of Art is a three-storey structure with a gross floor area of 4,700m2 that overlooks the Fitzroy River (Tunuba), next to the iconic Customs House, and is connected to the commercial centre of the city via new walkways to East Street. The building is designed to flow into the surrounding precinct with the architecture enabling our nationally significant art collection to be on permanent display, and to present emerging contemporary art practices. This is a safe and accessible building, designed to promote connection and equality for the elderly; speaking in Darumbal language and recognising First Nations, promoting accessibility for young families and people living with varying abilities.
The successful tenderer will offer a high quality food and beverage outlet that will provide an engaging, progressive, active and genuine appeal to the community and be complimentary to Rockhampton Museum of Art and its exhibitions and programing.
The standard opening hours for the Rockhampton Museum of Art will be 9am until 4pm Monday to Sunday (except Christmas Day and Good Friday). It is highly desirable that the restaurant’s core trading hours reflect at least the standard opening hours of the Rockhampton Museum of Art.
