Regional Startup Hubs Support Program

Rockhampton Regional Council's SmartHub Rockhampton have been granted a $75,000 Queensland Government regional funding boost as part of the Regional Startup Hub Support Program. Rockhampton Region Mayor, Margaret Strelow said with the support of grants like this, they can continue to build on the outstanding reputation the SmartHub has established and continue offering new events, programs and activities that help build a thriving ecosystem. 

About the program

The Regional Startup Hubs Support Program aims to support regionally based startup hubs and groups in Queensland to build their capability to deliver programs and activities to attract, inspire and build the knowledge and skills of local innovators.

Eligible activities include:

  • Administration support
  • Networking activities
  • Startup weekends
  • Startup events
  • Delivery of education/skills programs
  • Presentations
  • Mentoring sessions
  • Workshops/forums.
 Benefit to Rockhampton

 SmartHub Rockhampton is using the grant to bolster the capacity of the SmartHub administration team to ensure we achieve our vision of building a world-class ecosystem which supports and enables startups to thrive. The additional resource will allow the SmartHub team to implement and execute 15 key initiatives and programs to build 5 key pillars seeing Rockhampton become home to a thriving ecosystem.
