Venues and Parks for Hire

Council owns a number of venues and parks which can be hired for functions such as weddings, parties, meetings, conferences and corporate events. When booking outdoor functions please keep in mind the site selected may not look exactly the same for the event as at the time of booking due to seasonal changes.

Temporary events, private functions and Wedding/Commitment Ceremonies have different requirements and you may need to comply with certain criteria before making a booking.

Please Note:

Releasing of balloons is strictly prohibited. In Queensland, the release of balloons into the environment is considered littering under the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011—whether released deliberately or by accident. The law does not differentiate between different types of littered material and whether the waste is biodegradable or not.

A person must not release an unsecured balloon containing helium unless the

Balloon is –

1. released unintentionally and without negligence; or

1. released inside a building or structure and does not make its way into the open air

2. released for scientific, including meteorological, purposes; or

3. a balloon aircraft that is recovered after landing.
