Paver Rectification Trial on Quay Street

Project Scope

Rockhampton Regional Council will be undertaking a trial of relaying sections of pavers on Quay Street. The trial evaluation of rotating the direction of pavers to align with vehicle movement is a necessary step to establish a well-designed solution.  Following the 12-month study, the Council will attempt to recover costs through the firm deemed responsible for the paver failure.

What’s involved?

The works were carried out in two phases to minimise the impact.  Each phase involved works taking place in two separate sections on Quay Street (between Williams Street & Fitzroy Street).  The partial sections of road were fenced off for the safe removal of cracked pavers and the installation of new pavers in a different direction.

We are pleased to advise that Quay Street will remain open to one-way traffic throughout the duration of the works and trial period.
