Amendment to the Local Government Infrastructure Plan
Reason for the Community Engagement
The Rockhampton Regional Council resolved on 13 September 2016 to undertake the consultation for the draft Rockhampton Region Local Government Infrastructure Plan amendment, as per state statutory guidelines outlined in the Sustainable Planning Act 2009. The amendment was made necessary by statutory changes to the process for preparing a Local Government Infrastructure Plan, not as a result of any substantial change to the Schedule of Works.
The formal consultation period for the Local Government Infrastructure Plan commenced on Monday 26 September 2016 and was concluded at close of business on 04 November 2016. During the consultation period a ‘properly made’ submission was able to be made to Rockhampton Regional Council by any person, about any aspect of the proposed Local Government Infrastructure Plan. A 'properly made' submission had the following requirements:
- Be written or electronic
- Must state the name and residential or business address of each person making the submission
- Must state the grounds of the submission
- Must state the facts and circumstances relied on in support of those grounds
- Must be received by Rockhampton Regional Council during the public consultation period
- All written submissions must be signed by each person making the submission
Submissions could be made online by completing an electronic form, via email, in person at Council’s Customer Service Centres or via mail.
During the formal consultation period for the Local Government Infrastructure Plan, there were no submissions made by members of the public regarding the proposed draft amendment. The draft amendment will now be provided to the State for review and approval, as per the Sustainable Planning Act 2009.
